    NZSIA

The Instructor Training Co. Ski and Snowboard Training CoursesNew Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance www.nzsia.net
The NZSIA has been certifying ski instructors since 1971
It has an excellent reputation internationally
The Instructor Training Co.'s programs are designed to train you for the NZSIA Level 1 and NZSIA Level 2 certifications.
So you will be sitting two qualifications.

    NZSIA qualifications
    NZSIA Level 1:-

The Level 1 is a 4 day exam.
The Level 1 is at a lower level than the Level 2 and it is designed to help you on your way to the Level 2 qualification. The focus is on the lower levels of teaching, with specific focus on your class handling abilities, your presentation skills and a specific children's teaching section.

The NZSIA Level 1 is a prerequisite before you can go forward to the Level 2.
All our courses are designed to train you for the NZSIA Level 1 and the NZSIA Level 2 qualifications.

(please not the prior to 2009 the NZSIA Level 1 was called the Certificate in Snowsports Instruction - CSI)

    NZSIA Level 2:-

The Level 2 course is run over 8 days. It is an examination of your skiing ability, your ability to demonstrate good ski technique and your ability to look at, analyse and develop beginner to intermediate skiers.

The qualification covers from entry level skiers through to those who can make a basic parallel turn with a pole plant.
During the exam you will be tested on three areas
    Free skiing (your own level/ability)
Demonstrations of Wedge, Wedge Christie and Basic parallel turns
Your teaching ability, an on snow teaching presentation and a test of your skier analysis/lesson planning.

For you to become a Certified NZSIA instructor you must pass all three of the above sections.
During the The Instructor Training Co.’s program we will be training you to improve your skiing as well as understanding "the movements of skiing" so that you can develop your own skiing and begin to learn how to apply this to other less experienced skiers.

(please note that prior to 2009 the NZSIA Level 2 was known as the Stage 1)

Ski and Snowboard Instructor TrainingAll of your trainers during The Instructor Training Co.'s  program will be qualified NZSIA Examiners, who will be working independently of the NZSIA, however they may be involved with your final exam, in which case they will be at that time working for the NZSIA.

In the years to come after your Level 2 there are plenty more options.
NZSIA Level 3: - the ISIA level of New Zealand certification.
NZSIA Trainers Cert: - the trainer certification

The NZSIA also has a very active and busy Snowboard and Telemark division.
